Week 2 Day 1 Who's Your King


(1 Samuel 8:19-20) But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles."

Have you ever wanted to be like everyone else? Have you ever felt as if you might be different and simply want to fit in? I'm sure our kids feel this on a daily basis as they go to school. As adults, you may feel this way at your job, or maybe even in your church. Yet, God tells us we are going to be different. (1 Peter 2:9) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Have you ever been in a place where you willfully wanted to walk away from who you are in Christ just to fit in? I know that I have...and thankfully, today, I am forgiven!
